3 Quick Tips to Help You Overcome the Fear of Flying

Wouldn't it be great if you had a list of the best ways you could quickly overcome the fear of flying?
Next time you are experiencing the crippling effects of a panic attack, try these three techniques for fast relief.
1. Abdominal Breathing
When we experience anxiety, we automatically switch to shallow chest breathing. Instead, spend three to five minutes breathing deeply into your abdomen. This will access your parasympathetic nervous system, and help you experience a sense of well being faster.
2. Use Affirmations
It's important to understand that even if affirmations did nothing else but occupy your mind, and by doing so not allow you to focus on any negative thoughts, they would still be an excellent method for coping with worry. Luckily, affirmations can do much more. Repeat your favorite affirmation for a minute or two, focus completely on saying the words and experiencing the relief that comes from it.
3. Distract Yourself
Use distractions like television, videos, your computer, or even a flashy magazine bought in the airport store. Our minds can focus on one thing at a time. Focus all of your attention on something besides your emotions or the sensation of anxiety. This will distract you, and help your stress pass without you getting caught up in it.
If you want to overcome the fear of flying, or any other type of anxiety or phobia, then you must be prepared with a list of actions you can immediately take to help you cope. These three techniques for overcoming your fear of flying might seem incredibly simple and basic, but they can work miracles if you simply give in and fully try them.
It's time for you to overcome the fear of flying!

Don't Let Acne Scars Become a Problem For You - Read the Best Home Acne Treatments Available Today

One of the most scary things going through the mind of acne sufferers is the scars that acne can leave behind. I was an Acne sufferer throughout all of my teenage life and am here to share with you some important things that I learnt, about home acne treatments, along the way.
Washing your face each day with soap and water is simply not enough. It is recommended that you cleanse your skin with a facial wash, then use a toner before moisturising your skin. There are many products in the supermarket that claim to help clear acne. You can even get stronger products which are available from the doctors, and I must have tried everything, but personally nothing helped very much.
There are a few Do's and Dont's to consider in your everyday routine. You should try to drink 2 litres of water per day to clear toxins, cleanse your pores and keep your skin hydrated. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables and try to have a good amount of fibre, all of which can help to relieve acne. Use a moisturiser on your skin, not can oil based one but preferably something containing aloe vera. Avoid oil and cream based foundations and try not to consume to many dairy products as this does not help acne sufferers.
Believe it or not, after years of suffering with acne, I found a guide on home acne treatments which helped me to clear up my acne within seven days, and thankfully I don't have any acne scars.

The Benefits of Using Aromatherapy in Massage Sessions

Essential oils have various healing properties and the massage therapist is knowledgeable in using the most suitable oils for the issue at hand. Usually before an aromatherapy massage session, the therapist has a short initial consultation with the person where he or she will be able to determine exactly the oils to be used for the massage. It is very important to use the right type of oils, because if a person needs calming down and relaxing, using oils that stimulate and excite the body and mind will not achieve the desired effects.
During a massage session, the touch of the therapist combined with the smell of the various pure oils will help bring the person to a perfectly detached and relaxed state of mind. The effects of the aromatherapy oils it two fold. First of all the oils are inhaled during the massage session, which fires a chemical message to the brain to trigger the desired emotional response (thus the importance of using the right type of oils during the session). Also the oils are said to work directly through the skin absorption. Although it is not scientifically confirmed, this theory is widely accepted by many aromatherapy massage practitioners who strongly believe that the skin absorbs the essential oils, bringing the body the immediate natural benefits of the plants.
When using essential oils in massage, it is important to always dilute them in carrier, neutral oils such as almond, peach and apricot, as the pure essential oils are too concentrated and will harm the body. Also pregnant women and people who have stomach pains should avoid having these sensitive areas of the body massages. And in case of cuts and bruises, they should not be reached by the essential oils.
Using aromatherapy oils in massage is a life-altering experience. It gives a holistic treatment to the entire person by calming the mind while resting the body. The immediate effects of an aromatherapy massage last for about 2 hours, however many people have reported a much calmer and relaxed response to stress and conflict for several days after a session.

No More Machines, Just Functional Training!

By a raise of your hands, how many of you complain of a bad back? How about knee pain? Shoulder pain? Painful feet? Abdominal pain? Now, raise those hands again if you go to the gym, maybe use a treadmill and then proceed to use machines for your workout... I bet a good amount of you that have pain said yes to using machines. You may be asking yourself, "I thought machines were good, and it's better then nothing." Well, I'm here to tell you that machine training can be exactly why you have a bad back or have knee pain. I'll explain.
As humans, our bodies are designed to move freely, in a functional pattern day in and day out. We move in 3 planes of motion everyday: The Sagittal Plane (in front of us), Frontal Plane (side to side), and Transverse Plane (rotation). We pick things up from the ground; we walk, run, grab things above us, play sports, pick up our kids and so on and so forth. Everyday we ask our bodies to do things that require us to be strong as a freely moving body. So, why on earth would we train our bodies in a gym sitting on a machine? Machines are a fixed piece of equipment. They assist us to move in one plane of motion. Let me say that again, one plane of motion.
These names may be very familiar to you; the Pec Dec (when do we every sit in a chair and push out to work our chest), the Quad Extension and Flexion machines (again, sitting and strengthening our quads or laying on your stomach and strengthening your hamstrings), how is this in any way a movement that we do everyday. How about this one, the glut extension machine... I know so many ladies that think pushing a weight behind you will get rid of that extra something on your butt. When do YOU ever perform that movement in a day to day activity?
Many of you are probably thinking, "This goes against everything I have ever heard about working out". Well, wake up and smell the coffee! We live in an age where the term "Functional Training" is everywhere. Here is the definition of what this term means; Functional training is a classification of exercise which involves training the body for the activities performed in daily life.
Using a machine does not allow the body to properly prepare itself for the daily activities of life. How on earth can you learn to squat down or bend over and pick something up by sitting in a machine and extended your leg. How will your flexibility and your posture ever improve to the point of performing an athletic movement on the softball field if you use a machine to do a row? The simple answers to these questions are they can't... So, get off those machines, get your body moving in a way where YOU can actually move! We do enough sitting every day at our desks, working on the computers, sitting on the couches. Inactivity is everywhere. Let's utilize what we have and allow our bodies to get strong in movements that mimic our everyday activities. This way, you can improve your CORE strength, posture, flexibility and get rid of those aches and pains that come with not moving.
So, in our next article on Functional Training, we will go over the various exercises that you can do that will allow your body to move and be strong. Thanks for your time. Now, get up and move around, your body will thank you!

5 Mistakes People Make Using a Gain Weight Fast Diet

When it comes to putting on some pounds and saying goodbye to that skinny physique forever, a gain weight fast diet is needed in order to ensure it is done correctly. With any good diet however, comes a variety of mistakes that people can make on their road to success. Below are five common mistakes that people make when they are trying to go on a diet to gain weight quickly.
1. They Don't Understand How to Use Vitamins Effectively
Vitamins can help with almost any condition under the sun, but unfortunately most people do not know how to make them work effectively when they want to gain weight. Some go all out and take every kind of vitamin there is in the hopes of becoming stronger. Others steer clear of them completely and do not reap any of the benefits. Vitamin B and B-2 are the only two vitamins that will specifically help with a diet to gain weight, as they allow your body to turn food into useful energy more easily.
2. Don't Change Their Diet
Another common mistake that some people make when trying to gain weight is to keep their diet the same, and just use exercise to build muscle. Most do this so that they do not risk losing weight with dietary changes, but without a weight gaining diet, there is no chance of packing on some extra pounds.
3. Not Eating After They Workout
Most individuals neglect to nourish their body after a workout. They do not realize that exercise breaks down your muscles and in order for them to repair themselves and grow back stronger, a healthy snack is needed after a workout to kick start the healing process.
4. Eating an Insufficient Amount of Protein
If you are on a gain weight fast diet, it is important that you get an adequate amount of protein. In order to build muscle you must have proteins. If you fail to eat protein, then your body will be more likely to turn food into fat than muscle.
5. Thinking Only of Their Diet
Some people do nothing but obsess about their weight gaining diet, while neglecting exercise altogether. However, without a muscle building workout routine, your weight gaining diet will only create fat and not muscles.

How to Lose Stomach Fat Fast Without a Single Crunch?

If you have ever wanted to lose stomach fat and have done crunches, sit-ups and done hours upon hours of cardio, but still haven't seen any life changing results, this will be the most important article you'll read this year. Why? Because I'll show you exactly why doing crunches, situps and running for hours is the worst thing you can do to lose stomach fat!
The wrong way to lose stomach fat is to think that you can "spot reduce" your fat from the stomach only... That's a BIG misconception and makes thousands of people never reach their fat loss goals in a timely fashion. So what can you do in order to solve this problem?
The answer is simple! There is no quick or fast solution, only steady fat loss. Since you will need to lose body fat all over the body, and that in turn will also burn fat around the stomach, your best exercise plan is to work the biggest muscles in your body, that will need the most energy (calories) to work. So the best muscles to work out in order to lose stomach fat is actually your legs, arms, and chest, as well as your back... because these are the biggest muscles and increase your metabolism when stimulated.
So how do we stimulate these muscles? Is not running stimulating these muscles you might ask? Yes, but the problem with running for a long period of time is that you also burn muscle, not only fat. You want as much lean muscle as possible. That's why marathon runners are so skinny, but lean. They burn fat, but also muscle. Look at 100 m dash runners, they have more muscle, so what do they do differently?
They are doing high intense interval training or sprints. This will help stimulate extreme fat loss and also boost your metabolism. This also helps stimulate the muscles and create an effective after burn.
Another important factor for burning abdominal fat is to lift some weights, by alternating exercises, such as squats, and push-ups. Alternate these exercises 2-3 times without resting. That is called a superset and is an extremely effective way to boost your fat burning machine.
The last component to losing belly fat is you diet. If you are eating fat burning foods that take up a lot of energy to burn, but also provide the body with the nutrients it needs, you are doing GREAT! The only hard part is to know what these are, but there are experts who know exactly what they are.
Some can be, brown rice, broccoli, spinach, oatmeal, lean meats and eggs.

What Are the Symptoms of Hemorrhoids and Do You Have Them?

This article will outline what are the symptoms of hemorrhoids. In this way you can determine whether you have them or at least give you a better picture of the condition and the likely progression it can take. Having said this, always check with you health care professional as some of the classic symptoms of hemorrhoids are similar to other problems, and despite the pain you may be feeling as a result of piles right now are far more serious to your overall health.
The three classic symptoms are itching, pain and bleeding. You may have one or all of these symptoms so I will explain how and why they occur. This will give you a better idea on the type of piles you have and what you can do about them.
These three symptoms can happen all together or at different times. One may follow the others. Generally I would say that bleeding may be the first symptom, then itching and pain closely followed.
Bleeding will happen when you are passing a bowel movement. This is because the inflammation around the  swollen blood vessels has been perforated by pressure from the stool causing blood to flow down into the anus. In most cases like this there will be no pain associated with the blood loss because the hemorrhoid has developed on tissue that does not send pain signals to the brain.
Itching may follow bleeding and indicates that the pile is becoming larger and is unlikely to shrink beck into the rest of the anal canal. Itching is caused by the anal mucus that gets secreted by the body as a way to deal with the piles. It can cause itching at the anus or further into the rectum.
Pain can result if the hemorrhoids have developed on tissue or skin that does sense pain and sends this signal to the brain. This may indicate that the hemorrhoid is getting larger and is not likely to heal up of it's own accord without medical intervention in the form of medication or even surgery in some cases.
For instance, in the case of thrombosed external hemorrhoids the symptoms can be extreme pain when sitting down. Quite often they will require a special procedure such as rubber band ligation to treat effectively.

How to Make Your Back Feel Better

This part of the human body probably hurts more people around the world than any other part of the body. What is it? Your back. People complain about back pain all the time. Whether it be the upper back or the most common place for the pain to be, The lower back. Lower back pain is probably what most people experience.
Why do most people experience lower back pain? Because their stomach muscles are weak. The stomach muscles provide a foundation. The stronger the foundation, or the core as most doctors and chiropractors call it, the less back pain you will have.
If your core is not strong, your back will get strained. If your core is strong, the chances of hurting your back are much less.
Once you hurt your back, expect it to be prone to injury much more easily the next time. It will also take a while for you to heal as the your spine has a really crappy blood supply to it.
One of the best things you can do to avoid injuring your back is to make sure that your abdominal muscles are strong! This providing support and a great foundation for your back. And you might want to consider getting rid of that extra weight around your gut too. All that extra weight is constantly pulling you forward. Your back is continuously having to work to keep you straight. You should also make sure that good posture is there too. Those three things, a weak core, extra weight pulling you forward and bad posture, will give you a sore back or worse.

'Klotho Gene' May Just Do The Trick

Scientists from University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Centre have got some good news. Now, according to the researchers, an anti-aging gene might play a critical role in regulation of high blood pressure.

Aniti aging gene

In all these days, persistent high blood pressure
has been a risk factor for stroke, heart attack, heart failure, arterial aneurysm and is the leading cause of chronic kidney failure. But now, says the researchers, that an anti-aging gene called klotho can be manipulated to regulate hypertension
and also reverse kidney damage.

The research team showed that by increasing the expression of the gene in laboratory models, they not only stopped blood pressure from continuing to rise, but succeeded in lowering it and reverse kidney damage completely. Sun reports: "One single injection of the klotho gene can reduce hypertension for at least 12 weeks and possibly longer." It added: "Klotho is also available as a protein and, conceivably, we could ingest it as a powder much like we do with protein drinks."

It has been found that, with age, the klotho level decreases while the prevalence of hypertension increases. During the study, researchers had also used one injection of the klotho gene in hypertensive research models and were able to markedly reduce blood pressure by the second week.

It continued to decline steadily for 12 weeks. The klotho gene was delivered with a safe viral vector that is currently used for gene therapy.

Body Treatments

Body treatments are meant to cleanse moisturize the body skin. Regular massages and gentle strokes help to revitalize the body, reduce stress, increase blood circulation and treat many ailments like strengthening the immune system and muscles. We will discuss here techniques for a full body massage and essential oils to be used for the purpose:
  • Experts who can advise you on personalized methods according to your body type should handle first massage.
  • Use slow and rhythmic movement for massages at home but do not try to treat the aching areas yourself and take professional help instead.
  • Acupressure is quiet good for relieving muscle pains and tightness. You can learn it and use it at home too.
  • Aromatherapy uses essential oils to massage the body that enhance body's healing potential. These oils can be blended to suit your body type and condition to rejuvenate it or treat headaches, migraines and colds along with many other illnesses.
  • For good body care, combine body treatments with regular massages, aerobics and skin care essentials such as deodorants and liquid soaps.

How to Care for Dry Skin

Dry skin has a low level of sebum and can be prone to sensitivity. The skin has a parched look caused by its inability to retain moisture. It usually feels "tight" and uncomfortable after washing unless some type of moisturizer or skin cream is applied. Chapping and cracking are signs of extremely dry, dehydrated skin.
Dryness is exacerbated by wind, extremes of temperature and air-conditioning, all of which cause the skin to flake, chap and feel tight. This type of skin is tightly drawn over bones. It looks dull, especially on the cheeks and around the eyes. There may be tiny expression lines on these spots and at the comers of the mouth.

5 Practical Tips on Dry Skin Care …

Causes

  • The oil glands do not supply enough lubrication to the skin. As a result, the skin becomes dehydrated.

  • Skin gets exposed to the elements especially in winter.

  • Dry skin could be due to a genetic condition.

  • Poor diet. Nutritional deficiencies, especially deficiencies of vitamin A and the B vitamins, can also contribute to dry skin.

  • Environmental factors such as exposure to sun, wind, cold, chemicals, or cosmetics, or excessive bathing with harsh soaps.

  • Conditions such as dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, or seborrhea.

  • Dry Skin Could Also Be From:

Dry skin can be a sign of an underactive thyroid.

Serious skin complications can arise for people with diabetes.

Certain drugs, including diuretics, antispasmodics, and antihistamines, can contribute to dry skin.

How To Care for Dry Skin

Avoid the use of tap water when cleansing dry skin. The deposits are too drying on the skin. And never, ever use hot water. Use mineral water to freshen your face. Don't use a washcloth-a rough texture can irritate. In the morning, apply a spray of mineral water on your skin misted on with a plant sprayer. (Do not use a sprayer that had been used for spraying insecticides.) Lightly pat dry.
Dry skin needs plenty of thorough but gentle cleansing, regular stimulation with massage and generous quantities of oil and moisture. It also needs extra careful protection. Washing dry skin with soap and water not only removes grime but also the natural oils protecting the skin. A moisturizer increases the water content of the outer layers of the skin and gives it a soft, moist look.
Use nondetergent, neutral-pH products to cleanse your skin. Avoid using any commercial soap. And always touch your face gently. Double-cleanse with a cream, leaving a light, thin trace of it on the skin after the second cleansing.
Follow a bath or a shower with a mild application of baby oil. Massage your face with home-made nourishing cream every night before retiring. Be generous with the cream in the areas surrounding the eyes where tiny lines and crows feet are born.
Avoid coming in contact with highly alkaline soaps and detergents like washing sodas and powders which contain highly alkaline and drying ingredients.
Moistening with water, then applying a thin film of air-excluding moisturizer, restores the suppleness of the dry skin.
Morning Skin Cleanser/Rejuvenator
Every morning 15 minutes before taking your bath
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon orange juice
1 teaspoon olive oil and
few drops of rose water
few drops of lime juice
Mix the above ingredients together and apply on your skin.
Beauty Mask for Dry Skin
1 egg
1 teaspoon of honey,
1/2 teaspoon of olive oil and
few drops of rose water
Mix the ingredients thoroughly and use as a mask.
Night Moisturizing
After you clean and tone your skin, apply a splash of water or a water-misting. Pat almost dry with a soft towel, then smooth moisturizer from bosom to hairline. Allow five minutes for immediate absorption (cover your face and throat with warm washcloths to hasten penetration), then blot off any excess moisturizer with a tissue.
Men can skip the toner but should moisturize the delicate skin around the eye area.
Day Moisturizing
Apply a touch of your natural moisturizer over the freshly cleansed, toned, and dampened skin on your throat, cheeks, and around your eyes. Men should follow a two-step process. Apply moisturizer immediately after shaving. Wait ten minutes. Then moisturize again.
Milk Bath
Once a week take a milk bath. It will nourish and smoothen your skin. Warm your bath water and put in 250 gram of powdered milk, half tablespoon of almond oil and a few drops of your favorite perfume. Then just lie in it and let your mind wander while the wholesome foam works wonders on your dry skin.
If your lips chap, peel or crack then the best remedy is to massage them with a little cream of milk to which a few drops each of rose water and lime juice has been added every night before going to bed. Before applying lipstick, use a soft piece of towel for removing rough bits of chapped skin and rub a piece of raw beetroot gently on them. After applying lipstick add a little vaseline to keep your lips soft and pretty.
Moisturize your skin after cleansing to keep it from drying out. Use a liquid moisturizer or facial oil that contains nutrients and other natural ingredients. Avoid solid, waxy moisturizing creams.
Use a humidifier (or even a pan of water placed near a radiator) to humidify your environment, especially in winter. This helps to reduce the amount of moisture lost from the skin through evaporation.
Stay out of overheated rooms; avoid sudden changes in temperature; protect yourself from wind and sun. Remember, your face is fragile.
If you don't have a good, strong moisturizer on your face on a cold, windy winter day, don't go out! Cold will cause any moisture on your skin to evaporate. The wind will just accelerate the process.
At night, use a very creamy cleanser or oil (baby oil is perfectly all right). Remove residue with a spray of mineral water. Follow up with a night cream applied at least a half-hour before retiring. If you lie down immediately after applying cream, it will "puff-up" delicate tissues around the eyes.
Once a week, use a facial mask to clarify the skin and remove dull, dry surface skin cells. Blend together well 1 teaspoon green clay powder and 1 teaspoon raw honey. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for fifteen minutes, then rinse well with lukewarm water. While your skin is still slightly damp, apply a natural skin oil or liquid moisturizer.
If your skin is chapped or cracked, increase your consumption of water and essential fatty acids. Keep any chapped areas well lubricated and protected from the elements.
For cracked, dry skin on the fingers, use calendula cream or oil with comfrey, vitamin E oil, and aloe vera. Apply the mixture to hands at bedtime, then wear plastic gloves overnight.
Do not smoke. Smoking has a harmful effect on the skin for several reasons. Nicotine constricts the blood vessels, including the tiny capillaries that serve the skin. This deprives the skin of the oxygen and nutrients it needs for good health. Smoking also can make the skin dry and leathery.
Do not use harsh soaps, cold cream, or cleansing creams on your skin. Cleansing creams are made from hydrogenated oils, which can cause free radical damage to the skin, resulting in dryness and wrinkles. Instead, use pure olive, avocado, or almond oil to cleanse the skin. Pat the oil on, then wash it off with warm water and a soft cloth.
Do not use very hot water when bathing or showering.
As much as possible, stay out of the sun. The sun is responsible for most of the damage done to the skin. It causes dryness, wrinkles, and even rashes and blisters. Always apply a good sunscreen to all exposed areas of skin if you must be in the sun.

Herbs for Dry Skin

Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is soothing, healing, and moisturizing. It also helps to remove dead skin cells. Apply aloe vera gel topically on affected areas.
Calendula and comfrey have skin-softening properties. They can be used in a facial sauna or to make herbal or floral waters. Comfrey also reduces redness and soothes irritated skin.
Add 5 drops of lavender oil or oat extract to bath water. After the bath, apply diluted evening primrose oil or aloe vera cream.
Drink teas of camomile, dandelion or peppermint.
Borage, fennel, coltsfoot or calendula tea also helps improve the skin. Add 1 tsp. of herbs to 1 cup of boiling water and drink daily.
Tea tree oil has been known to penetrate into the skin's cellular level. Add 1 drop of oil to your favorite day or night cream to help moisturize and smooth skin.
Herbal Facial Sauna
A weekly facial sauna using the herbs chamomile, lavender, and peppermint is good for dry skin.
Using a glass or enameled pot, simmer a total of 2 to 4 tablespoons of dried or fresh herbs in 2 quarts of water. When the pot is steaming, place it on top of a trivet or thick potholder on a table, and sit with your face at a comfortable distance over the steam for fifteen minutes. You can use a towel to trap the steam if you wish.
After fifteen minutes, splash your face with cold water and allow your skin to air dry or pat it dry with a towel. Then either apply a good natural moisturizer or facial oil, or apply a clay mask.
After the sauna, you can allow the herbal water to cool and save it for use as a toning lotion to be dabbed on your face with a cotton ball after cleansing.

Diet Recommendations for Dry Skin

  • Eat a balanced diet that includes vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds, and nuts. Eat quality protein from vegetable sources. Increase your intake of raw foods.

  • Eat foods such as garlic, onions, eggs, and asparagus that are high in sulfur, which helps to keep the skin smooth and youthful.

  • Consume plenty of yellow and orange vegetables. These are high in beta-carotene, an antioxidant. Carrots are especially good.

  • Unrefined, cold-pressed flax seed oil used daily on salads and baked potatoes, or mixed into any dishes which do not require heating to high temperatures will make dry skin moist and supple. Flax seed oil contains the essential fatty acids omega-3 alpha linolenic acid and omega-6 linoleic acid. These are converted in the body into hormone, like substances called Prostaglandins, which support skin health.

  • Cantaloupes, carrots and apricots are heating foods for dry skin because they are rich in the vitamins A and C, both important for a supple, smooth skin. Eat them whole or take as fresh juices. Eat foods rich in pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), such as quark, raw. milk cheese, natural plain yogurt, kefir, leafy green vegetables, nutritional yeast and wheat germ. Pantothenic acid is need for the synthesis of fats and oils used by the skin.

  • Drink at least 2 quarts of quality water every day to keep the skin well hydrated.

  • Avoid fried foods, animal fats, and heat-processed vegetable oils. Use cold- pressed oils only. Heating oils leads to the production of free radicals, which have a destructive effect on the skin.

  • Do not drink soft drinks or eat sugar, chocolate, potato chips, or other junk foods.

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine. These substances have a diuretic effect, causing the body and skin cells to lose fluids and essential minerals.

3 Tips to Get Rid of Bad Breath - Have Sweet Smelling Breath at All Times

Bad breath otherwise known as halitosis is a common problem among a lot of people. The sad thing about it, is that most people have it and don't know. This is due to the fact that it is more difficult to smell your own breath than others. Can you imagine speaking to someone and they have to be holding their breath just so they don't smell yours? That can be very embarrassing and so you need to follow the tips below to learn how to get rid of bad breath.

1. One of the major causes of halitosis is due to some types of food that you eat. For example, garlic, onions and some other foods can leave a real terrible odor in your mouth. Therefore to get rid of bad breath it is best to avoid these types of foods.

2. Though it is recommended to brush your teeth after every meal, we know that this can be an impossible feat to achieve. However, you should try to brush your teeth at least twice per day to remove plaque and bacteria that will build up in your mouth to give you bad breath.

3. Another thing you can do is to use a mouth wash as well as floss. Brushing is good, but brushing alone will not get out all the food particles that may accumulate thus giving your mouth an odor. If you have terrible halitosis, try to get a mouth wash that has a sweet smell. Preferably a mint flavor.

How to Tell If Someone is Lying to You

We have all said a lie at least one time during our life. It's likewise safe to say that somebody has told you a lie too. When we figure it out, the result is that we feel the pain of betrayal. Interestingly, there are ways to detect lies.
Here are several things to watch out for:
1. Observe body language. Hints that a person could be lying are fidgeting, playing with the hair, or wringing the hands. This isn't a foolproof way though since it could just be that the individual is shy or uneasy.
2. A good indication is when a person crosses the arms across the body or places a barrier in between. Examples of these barriers are bags, cups, or books.
3. A person who lies usually avoids engaging in prolonged eye contact. When you try to look him or her in the eye, they will fidget and will instead stare at insignificant things such as the walls or the ceiling.
4. One of the most obvious giveaways is discrepancy in their stories. A liar can’t possibly keep up with all the lies being told. He or she will mess up the details in some way.
5. Look for the tiny details. If they only speak in general terms and avoid providing specific names or places, it’s a good bet that they’re lying.
6. Are they speaking in a higher pitch or lower pitch than usual? When people lie, the tone of voice changes.
7. Look for actions that could be construed as hesitating. If they clear their voice, breathe deeply, or take a pregnant pause before speaking, chances are the next sentence that comes out is a lie.
8. Observe their eye movement. While the person is conversing, watch where they eyes are looking at. If it’s towards the right, they are searching through their memory for their response. If they look towards the left, it could be that they're already fabricating lies.
9. A common sign that a person is lying is when he or she changes the topic. When an individual abruptly switches to a different topic that is so out of line with what you were talking about, it is indeed suspicious.
10. Another type of behavior that’s suspicious is when the person avoids the use of pronouns like “we” or “I.” Liars frequently use sarcasm or humor in order to veer away from a subject.
11. Some liars do feel guilt and when their back is up on the wall, they will express anger and may even storm off.
12. Someone who touches his or her nose frequently could be lying. So does a person who’s sweating excessively, breathing heavily, or someone whose jaw is tight all of a sudden.
13. If you interrogate these liars, they will not recall the details of their lie. They will also do anything to avert detection. Most of them show a burst of anger or they leave the scene.
14. A person who's getting uncomfortable because of the lie he or she is presently saying commonly touches the face frequently. The higher the part of the face is that the person is touching, the more extensive the lie is.
15. When you’re confident of what you’re saying, you would be sitting up straight. A person who’s hunched over especially with the hands inside the pockets are showing their insecurity. There are studies to support that this type of posture is suggestive of an individual who has a disposition to lie.
If you have a child and you find out that he or she has picked up the habit of deceptive lying, do whatever you can to put a stop to it. Study shows that the habit could start at around five years old. With these tips, you can quickly detect a liar and never have to fall for their tricks.

Solve a Puzzle and Brain Power Increases

Solve a puzzle and brain power increases, play a mentally stimulating game, read a good book - In fact any activity that stimulates the brain has been found in a recent study supported by the National Institute on Aging to delay the start of dementia related memory loss in older people. So, how are puzzles and brain health linked?
The information comes from the Bronx Aging Study that includes data on nearly 500 subjects between 75 and 85 years old who didn't have dementia at the beginning of the research.
The work appears in the August 4, 2009 issue of Neurology and has found cognitive leisure activities seem to hold off the memory decline in those who end up being diagnosed with dementia.
Some of the factors thought to be involved include what's called cognitive reserve, which may be affected by education early in life as well as taking part in activities that stimulate the brain.
It's this "cognitive reserve" that's thought to help hold off the decline in memory associated with dementia during the preclinical stages, the time before you see the symptoms.
The subjects, all part of the Bronx Aging Study, completed assessments every 12 to 18 months that told researchers if they took part in mentally stimulating out of work activities like reading, crossword puzzles, playing music, writing, playing cards or a board game or participating in a group discussion.
The subjects also indicated how often they participated in these things, daily, a few days a week or weekly. Point totals were assigned to the frequencies and tabulated by the research team.
The data on 101 of the subjects who developed dementia over the five-year follow up was evaluated carefully. The median (middle) total points for this group being 7, which worked out to taking part, on average, in 1 of the six activities each day.
In all, 10 participants reported no activities, another 11 reported only 1 activity per week.
The researchers looked especially closely at the point when memory loss accelerated for each participant.
The more mentally active subjects took longer for memory decline to become a problem. They saw that each additional activity day was linked to a delay in the onset of decline by 0.18 years for these subjects.
The team also so that later-in-life mental stimulation seems to influence your overall cognitive reserve independent of education. Anyone can get the benefit of mentally challenging activities.
The average age of the world's population is increasing at a rate we've never seen before. Worldwide the number of people over 65 is estimated to be 506 million in 2008; an astonishing 1.3 billion by 2040, which is 14% of the total population of the world.
The issues and challenges of aging are going to be hard to ignore in the years to come, which is why learning about dementia and how to overcome it is so important.

How to escape a Heart Attack

Let's say it's 6.15 pm and you're going home (alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and frustrated.
Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!

Fighting Depression

Our positive living anti-depression program is a hands on approach through Positive guidance, ayurveda, yoga and meditation therapy with a goal to eliminate present or future dependency on medication.
It has been so successful that we have helped several people from eliminating years of dependency on medication!
Each year more than 25 million Americans are treated with antidepressants. Effective? Yes, but the added stress of side effects, such as weight gain, lethargy, and sexual dysfunction, have brought into question whether medication is the only solution. It may not be. Recent studies have shown evidence that the practice of yoga—postures, breathing techniques, meditation—has beneficial effects on the emotional well-being and mental acuity of depression sufferers. And, best of all, without the side effects.
A recent, yet small, Scandinavian study conducted by Eric Hoffman, Ph.D., that measured brain waves before and after a two-hour Kriya Yoga class found that alpha waves (relaxation) and theta waves (unconscious memory, dreams, emotions) increased by 40 percent. This means the brain is more deeply relaxed after yoga and the subjects have better contact with their subconscious and emotions. The Scandinavian study is significant for depression sufferers because after the yoga session, alpha waves increased in the right temporal lobe.
Previous research has shown that depressed, introverted people typically have more alpha activity in the left frontal-temporal region, while optimistic, extroverted people have more alpha activity on the right. That theta waves also increased supports the notion that yoga works to alleviate depression not only by increasing brain chemicals that contribute to a feel-good response—such as endorphins, enkephalins, and serotonin—but also by providing greater access to feelings.
Another study, conducted jointly by the Philadelphia-based Jefferson Medical College and Yoga Research Society, found that practitioners experienced a significant drop in cortisol levels after a single yoga class. High cortisol levels are characteristics of stress and serious depression. A marked decrease in cortisol and increase in the hormone prolactin—which is believed by many professionals to be the key in producing the anti-depressant effect of electroshock therapy—was also demonstrated in tests conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in India, using the breathing technique Sudharshan Kriya (SKY). In several major controlled studies involving adults with major depressive disorder, SKY produced dramatic relief from depression accompanied by beneficial changes in brain and hormone function.
But what about long-term effects? So far, most of the longer studies have been done in the area of mindfulness-based training; the most recent one was published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology (vol. 68, 2000). Here, mindfulness-based stress reduction was combined with group cognitive therapy as an eight-week treatment in the prevention of recurrence of major depression. In follow-up testing a year later, the treatment group had a significantly lower relapse rate than did the control group.

Keep Swine Flu Away with Basic Precautions

Swine flu in India is spreading like wildfire, taking the toll to six. Officials say there are currently more than 800 cases of the H1N1 flu strain in India. Governments from all around the world are finding ways to combat this deadly disease. So what can you do to protect yourself? Stay calm and practice these 10 effective prevention tips.

1.Wash your hands frequently

Use the antibacterial soaps to cleanse your hands. Wash them often, at least 15 seconds and rinse with running water.

2. Get enough sleep

Try to get 8 hours of good sleep every night to keep your immune system in top flu-fighting shape.

3. Keep hydrated

Drink 8 to10 glasses of water each day to flush toxins from your system and maintain good moisture and mucous production in your sinuses.

4. Boost your immune system

Keeping your body strong, nourished, and ready to fight infection is important in flu prevention. So stick with whole grains, colorful vegetables, and vitamin-rich fruits.

5. Keep informed

The government is taking necessary steps to prevent the pandemic and periodically release guidelines to keep the pandemic away. Please make sure to keep up to date on the information and act in a calm manner.

6. Avoid alcohol

Apart from being a mood depressant, alcohol is an immune suppressant that can actually decrease your resistance to viral infections like swine flu. So stay away from alcoholic drinks so that your immune system may be strong.

7. Be physically active

Moderate exercise can support the immune system by increasing circulation and oxygenating the body. For example brisk walking for 30-40 minutes 3-4 times a week will significantly perk up your immunity.

8. Keep away from sick people

Flu virus spreads when particles dispersed into the air through a cough or sneeze reach someone else's nose. So if you have to be around someone who is sick, try to stay a few feet away from them and especially, avoid physical contact.

9. Know when to get help

Consult your doctor if you have a cough and fever and follow their instructions, including taking medicine as prescribed.

10. Avoid crowded areas

Try to avoid unnecessary trips outside. Moreover, avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.

Natural Tips for Shiny Hair

Do you long for shiny tresses, but lack the funds for expensive products and treatments? Don't despair - you don't have to be a supermodel to have gleaming locks. Before you mourn your lackluster strands, head to the kitchen and try these simple solutions to lock in shine the natural way.
Sun, wind, saltwater, pollution, and chemicals are just some of the shine-depleting elements your hair may be subjected to on a daily basis. They can strip your hair of its natural oils and create build-up leaving it dull and lifeless. Fortunately, Mother Nature has a few remedies to share.
The Alluring Avocado
Mash an avocado (one avocado for short hair, two for long) in a bowl until it forms a thick paste. Spread the paste on your hair from root to tip and leave on for 20 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. Avocados are high in fatty acids and nutrients. Feed your hair!
Amazing Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix half a cup of apple cider vinegar with one quart of water and use as a hair rinse after your regular shampoo. Rich in alpha-hydroxy acids, apple cider vinegar helps break down residue build-up leaving your hair soft and full of shine. Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar and it will be shining in no time.
Eggs Over Olive Oil
Beat together two eggs for short hair, three for long, and add in three tablespoons of olive oil. Coat your hair from root to tip and leave on for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. Eggs contain eleven essential nutrients and are packed with protein. Combine them with olive oil for conditioning and nourishment and you have one powerful duo.
Coconut Craze
Warm three tablespoons of coconut oil and gently comb into your hair from root to tip. Wrap your hair in a hot towel and let the oil sit for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. Loaded with antioxidants, coconut oil works to smooth dry and damaged cuticles and lock in shine.
Life doesn't have to be dull and neither does your hair! It's time to shine! Open your cabinet and start mixing, then sit back and bask in your natural glow.

Get Clear Skin Fast - Have Clear Skin in Just 1 Week and Keep it That Way For Life

The key to getting clear skin fast is that you have to first realize that the secret to curing your acne is that it actually starts inside of your body. Everything on your skin IE excess oil, dead skin and bacteria are all just the external symptoms of the real problems inside of you.
Now I won't go into all the details about insulin and androgen release and their subsequent effects that cause acne, just take my word that plenty of people have completely cured themselves of their skin problems when they look at acne from this new angle.
A very quick and very simple way to jump start yourself to get clear skin fast is to do a three mono diet consisting of apples and drinking lots of water. A 3 day apple diet is great because apples have many ingredients that are cleansing and beneficial to the body. Combined with the large amount of water you'll be drinking, you;ll give your body a chance to rest and recuperate. This allows your body to get rid of all the junk floating around in its system and is almost like hitting the reset button on your computer.
To do this mono diet, you simply have to eat apples for three days. Eat as many as you want throughout the day, but try to eat only one type of apple to maximize the effect. A lot of people share concerns that it might be to hard. In fact, the first day might feel "odd" as you're not eating normal meals, but by the second and third days you'll be in the full swing of things. The other big part of this get clear skin fast diet is that you must be drinking a lot of water. Water will help flush out your system and will greatly moisturize your skin, really adding to the healing effect.
While this is a great routine to get clear skin fast, it is not a permanent solution. You have to make some small changes to your lifestyle in order to receive the maximum benefits.
Imagine the benefits of making these small changes, however. You'll never need to buy another product or visit another dermatologist ever again. Don't worry, you can still eat out at restaurants and enjoy pizza if you so wish.

2 Stop Smoking Methods That Will Help You Kick the Habit

Smokers today are looking for the best stop smoking methods that will help them to quit once and for all. Are you one of these people? Have you tried techniques that just don't work? Here are 2 suggestions that will help you kick the habit.
1. Counting Down
One of the most effective stop smoking methods is the "countdown," which involves reducing the number of cigarettes that you smoke each day. For example, if you smoke 15 a day, then only smoke 14 the next day, then 13 the next, and so on. If you're not sure how many you smoke a day, make a guess and set that as your first day's limit. This method is easier for you mentally, because your thought is "I can still smoke today, just one less cigarette than yesterday."
The key to this technique, which will make you fail if you don't do it, is concentrating on each day, one at a time. If you suddenly focus on the fact that you're smoking 5 less a day than last week, and how are you supposed to get through today without those 5, then you will end up smoking those 5. Take each day as it comes, don't think about tomorrow, focus on today, and you stand a good chance at quitting with this method. You will eventually smoke the last cigarette and then be done, and the withdrawals will be easier, because you've been slowly reducing the amount of nicotine you take in over time.
2. Get Some Support Behind You
Another one of the best stop smoking methods sounds corny or embarrassing, but I highly recommend joining a support group, or at least getting a friend or relative to support you as you try to quit. Trust me, you're not above joining a support group, and nobody is going to think less of you for doing it. Think about it this way: What's more important, some "image" that you're trying to hold up, or being able to save your life by quitting smoking? The answer is obvious. Not only will the support and encouragement from the group be invaluable to you, but you'll also be accountable to them. One of the biggest factors that will keep you from smoking is the potential guilt of having to confess to the group that you slipped up. Nobody wants to feel guilty, and this will often be enough to overcome the temptation to smoke.
Better Yet, Use This Secret Method to Stop Smoking For Good
Did you read this article because you're looking for some good stop smoking methods that actually work? If so, you need to pay special attention now. You know just how hard it is to quit smoking. You have a hard enough time throwing away the cigarettes, and then when the withdrawals hit, you're digging through the trash to get them back. Is it really impossible to just quit? You might be thinking so at this point.
That is why I want to tell you about this little-known technique to quit smoking once and for all. Hundreds of people have used this exact method to throw away their cigarettes and never look back. For you, the truth is that there is so much more that you need to know when you decide to quit smoking -- why do you think you haven't been able to quit yet? You want to know everything there is to know, so go to http://www.ThrowAwayTheCigs.info and get started. Click the link now and get control of your life again. Throw away YOUR cigarettes and become smoke-free once and for all.

3 Tips on Proper Nutrition For Building Muscles and Losing Fat

No matter how hard you try in the gym, you won't see much result unless you combine your workouts with a well thought out nutrition plan. Without proper nutrition for building muscles and losing fat your body will always be lacking the balance and energy to complement your training efforts.
The good news is that the same rules apply to both muscle gain and fat loss nutrition planning, and that these rules are actually quite simple to follow. You will instantly notice an improvement in your mental capacity and focus, as well as an increase in your energy levels and workout recovery times.
1. Meal Partitioning
Increase the number of meals per day, but make them smaller and focused on what food they contain. Fruits, lean protein, vegetables and whole foods should always form up the main ingredients of each meal. You must instill some self-discipline here and get rid of high-calorie, high-fat and high-sugar foods.
If you're serious about losing fat while maintaining high energy resources for your workouts, you can't have things like chocolate bars, cookies, pies, ice cream, fried foods, etc. in your menu. Definitely not often anyway.
I know it's impossible to completely change your eating habits, but you need to start making changes today and be consistent and focused. By taking small steps in eliminating bad foods and adding good ones, you will achieve the necessary nutrition levels in a rather short period of time.
2. Drinking Water
It goes without saying that hydration is crucial, not only for preserving life altogether, but for allowing your body to function at its best. While the minimum intake should be at about 2 liters a day, nutrition specialists suggest at least 3 liters of water. This is quite true when you're working out to build muscle and lose fat as it helps your system to get rid of toxins more easily.
Calories that come from drinks such as soda, alcohol or beverages containing sugar are working against you, so replace the regular consumption of those with a glass of water. Don't think much about it and you can easily do it. You'll be glad you did later.
3. Creating a Nutrition Plan
You need to make a plan. Period. Going from meal to meal without having a clear idea what you should consume is not going to take you far. Nor will going into the grocery store and trying to figure out what to buy in the last minute. Unless you're experienced and have been following a plan for months or years, you will miss out on important ingredients, as well as end up buying something you shouldn't.
Plan with your daily schedule in mind. It's not feasible to cancel a lunch meeting or a business trip just to eat healthy, so make sure to point these out in your plan and prepare some whole food sandwiches or try to figure out in advance what foods to order in that restaurant, such that you don't have to break out of your nutrition targets.
Make a grocery shop list and stick to it. It will save you a lot of time and help you avoid mistakes, as well as keep those tempting candies and other treats out of your house. That way you can focus on following your nutrition plan to the optimum. Try to prepare as many ingredients and meal prerequisites so when it comes to making the actual meal you can have it ready in no time.
While a lot more can be said on the topic, I can guarantee you that just by following these 3 simple tips on proper nutrition for building muscles and losing fat you will experience noticeable results right from the start. Don't be surprised if you begin losing a pound or more per week just from having the correct nutrition alone.
